The Scotiabank Arena in Toronto is undergoing a major renovation project, with PCL Construction recently commencing work on the second phase of the transformation. This iconic sports and entertainment venue, home to the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors, is being revamped to enhance the overall fan experience and bring a more modern feel to the facility. As construction progresses on this crucial phase, fans can anticipate a revitalized and cutting-edge Scotiabank Arena that will offer a more engaging and immersive atmosphere for all visitors.
Project Details
- Edmonton, Alberta-based builder PCL has started work on the $350 million Scotiabank Arena Reimagination project, which will involve significant upgrades to seating, services, and amenities at the arena.
- Phase 2 of the project consists of two components: the renovation of the 100 Level concourse and the construction of a new luxury club area in the first part, to be completed by October 2024. The second part, scheduled for fall to spring 2025, will focus on upgrading the 100 Level seating, installing an arena-wide audiovisual system, and enhancing Wi-Fi capabilities.
- PCL has been involved in the project since 2019, having completed initial work that included the installation of a large LED video board in Maple Leaf Square and the addition of LED displays and monitors within the arena.
Additional Enhancements
- Expansion of a 2,600 square-foot retail store on the 100 Level concourse.
- Transformation of apparel kiosks into mini walk-in stores with innovative features like rotating partitions and digital signage.
- Inclusion of more inclusive and accessible spaces on the 100 Level concourse, such as an infant feeding room, prayer room, and all-gender restrooms.
- Implementation of efficient, frictionless security screening measures to expedite entry for attendees.
PCL successfully completed Phase 1 of the renovations in October 2023, which included the renovation of Mastercard-branded executive suites on the 200 Level and the introduction of the Mastercard Lounge for members. Marc Pascoli, Senior Vice President and District Manager of PCL Constructors Canada, expressed confidence in delivering the second phase of renovations in a timely manner, aligning with the upcoming Maple Leaf and Raptors seasons.
In addition to the Scotiabank Arena project, PCL is also engaged in renovation projects at other major sports venues, such as the Rogers Centre in Toronto and the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, further showcasing their expertise in stadium construction and modernization.
