Forshaw, a prominent property development firm, has recently received approval to build an impressive new tower in the lively Cornbrook neighborhood. This ambitious project is not only poised to enhance the city’s skyline but also revitalize the area with a mix of residential, commercial, and recreational spaces. The innovative design and top-notch amenities of the Cornbrook tower are expected to make it a significant landmark in the city, showcasing the ongoing growth and vibrancy of the rapidly evolving urban landscape.
Plans have been approved for a mixed-use residential development featuring 229 apartments and a four-story aparthotel by Forshaw Land & Property Community, with unanimous support from the Manchester City Council. This development is part of the broader Manchester Waters masterplan, devised by Peel Waters to rejuvenate the brownfield area. The vacant one-acre site in Cornbrook, strategically located between the city center and Old Trafford, is seen as a crucial gateway into Manchester.
The striking 24-story design, created by architect Leach Rhodes Walker, will consist of 224 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments along with five penthouse units featuring private terraces. The ground floor will house retail and amenity spaces, while the plans also include a four-story, 87-room aparthotel. Forshaw Community’s CEO, Lyndon Forshaw, expressed enthusiasm for this significant residential-led project, highlighting the addition of much-needed new housing and the launch of their inaugural hotel under the Vivere Aparthotel brand.
James Whittaker, the managing director of Peel Waters, shared his excitement about the detailed planning permission granted for another development at Manchester Waters, following years of land acquisition and securing complex planning approvals for the Cornbrook Hub. The long-term vision for the Manchester Waters neighborhood aims to create a vibrant and sustainable waterside community, offering a mix of housing options in one of the most desirable waterfront locations in Greater Manchester. The forthcoming Forshaw Community project is expected to align with this vision and contribute to the overall vitality of the area.
